Amy & Mark’s Beautiful Fall Wedding Reception at Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club

On Saturday, October 28, the beauty of the season and Amy Mynaugh and Mark Cavers’ love came to a forefront at Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club—treating their 144 guests to an unforgettable fall wedding. Following a wedding ceremony at a local church, the wedding party arrived to capture some precious moments together before the party really got started.

Take a walk through Amy and Mark’s wedding that was filled with sophisticated elegance and secluded rustic charm our venue is known to provide.

A Charming Wedding Reception

 All Hands on Deck

All day, our staff carefully arranged the décor and precious items the Cavers dropped off to personalize their reception space. While we were busy putting the finishing touches on their reception space, other top Chicago wedding vendors began to arrive. Around 2:15pm, Tasty Catering was on-site. Providing gold chairs and the finest wedding food, they were an essential part of the team that brought the Cavers’ wedding dreams to life. Soon other professionals, including florist Peg Kerrigan with Flowers by Peg, DJ Alvin Black and photographer Meagan Shuptar with M. Lindsay Photography, also gathered. The energy that filled Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Clubhouse by the time guests arrived was contagious.

A Delicious Cocktail Hour

In addition to a full bar service that included Apaltagua Pinot Noir, The Girls in the Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Honig Sauvignon Blanc, guests were greeted by friendly staff who circulated with mouthwatering appetizers artistically presented. Designed with the Cavers’ taste in mind, guests enjoyed the following fine passed hors d'oeuvres:

  • Petite caprese skewers: herb and olive oil marinated ciligine mozzarella and cherry tomato
  • Prosciutto and arugula flatbread: prosciutto, red onion, brie, arugula, balsamic aïoli
  • Meatballs BBQ: cocktail meatballs in tangy Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce

A Bountiful Array of Dinner Items

At 6pm, guests were seated for introductions, the cake cutting, welcome speeches and first toast and blessing. A fresh pre-set garden salad then led into an exceptional variety of menu items available at three Chicago-themed food stations. Incredibly satisfying and with a fun flare, the Cavers’ custom menu gave guests all the energy and inspiration they needed to party the night away.

The Chicago-themed food stations included the following menu items:

  • The Pilsen
    • Beef barbacoa and shredded chicken tinga tacos accompanied with pico de gallo, onion cilantro relish and flour tortillas
    • Black bean and corn salad
    • Veggie fajitas with grilled bell peppers and onions served with corn and flour tortillas
  • The Taylor Street
    • Chicken parmesan
    • Tuscan pork loin
    • Gemelli pesto marinara
    • Arugula salad
    • Sliced ciabatta bread
  • The Gold Coast
    • Slider sandwiches with caramelized onions and American cheese
    • Mini Italian beefs served with shredded cheese and giardiniera

Let the Dancing Begin

With speeches and the introduction of groomsmen, flower girls and bridesmaids complete, it was time for Amy and Mark’s first dance followed by the mother/son and father/daughter dance. Then guests could not wait to get to the sparkling dance floor themselves. At 7:30pm it was open to all, and few even stopped to snag a cup of coffee or baked good before jumping right in to the dancing.

With Fig Media in charge of music, the excitement remained high all night. Add in the incredible cake and sweets by Aracely’s Bakery or the gluten-free baked goods Amy and Mark provided, the guests had no shortage of energy to burn off! By the time guests departed around 11pm, everyone had plenty of sweet memories to take home.

Departing with Good Cheer

When guests jumped on one of the shuttles to Chicago Marriot Oakbrook serviced by Odyssey Transportation, their minds were already flooded with memories of the Cavers’ wonderful wedding experience. We are so glad M. Lindsay Photography was on-site to capture the love and joy that was shared. From the arrival of the bridal party to the departure of close family members with floral centerpieces in hand, the Cavers gave not only themselves but their guests a dream wedding experience.
