Last fall, Kerry and Bobby joined 171 close friends and family at the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club for their wedding reception.

Pat, Kerry's mother, had shared with us that her daughter was envisioning a barn wedding. After she toured our facility, she soon realized that Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club would be a perfect fit. Our beautiful venue is located in a private, woodsy location in the Chicago suburbs, which is why it made for quite the romantic getaway for the couple to celebrate their marriage with all their loved ones.

A lovely setting dressed in personal details

Our team worked with Blush and Luxe and The English Garden Shop to prepare the venue to ensure it was exactly as the couple envisioned when guests arrived. Kerry and Bobby’s wedding colors were taupe and burgundy. The head table and guest tables looked elegant with taupe linens and classic ivory napkins. We added pops of burgundy to cocktail hour tables and to the centerpieces, which boasted beautiful florals and votives.

Tasty Catering was the first vendor to arrive on site. The customized menu they prepared for everyone included a carving station and a buffet. Their event team made sure everything was arranged for a smooth wedding flow. Menu items were chosen to ensure variety for all types of eaters. And the couple wanted an interactive element, so a carving station was perfect.

We’re fortunate to partner with incredible vendors throughout Chicagoland. DJ Benny from DJs for You was responsible for the entertainment of the evening. Wynn Films videoed the event. Trolley & Bus Company offered guest transportation. Finally, MDM Entertainment provided the beautiful string lights for the patio.

 Mingling, refreshments and small bites

Guests arrived just in time for cocktail hour on the patio. Family and friends exchanged greetings, grabbed drinks and enjoyed the following light hors d’oeuvres:

●     Miniature Bruschetta: fresh tomato, garlic, olive oil and basil served on toasted bruschetta

●     Sweet Potato Puffs: brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and crushed pecans in a puff pastry

●     BBQ Bites: mini cornbread topped with BBQ pulled pork and slaw

●     Bacon and Cheese Baby Reds: red potato cups filled with smoked bacon, chives and cheddar cheese

An elegant dining experience

After a light-hearted cocktail hour, guests took their seats in the Clubhouse for introductions and blessings as well as cake-cutting and dancing. Kerry’s uncle is a pastry chef who provided the gorgeous cake.

Guests enjoyed their first course meal—a Waldorf Chopped Salad with apples, grapes, celery, walnuts and lemon poppy seed dressing.

For the main course, a buffet and carving station were provided. The station featured a uniformed chef who carved Herb Crusted Tenderloin of Beef. Sauces included a Horseradish Cream and Roasted Garlic Aioli.

The buffet featured our signature Chicken Champagne—sauteed chicken breast with sun-dried tomato champagne sauce. Sides included Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes and Tasty Bistro Vegetables featuring zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, peppers, red onion and herbs.

Other meals prepared for guests included a Baked Eggplant Vegetarian Meal, featuring lightly fried eggplant slices layered with tomato-basil sauce, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses with fresh steamed vegetables and a Gluten-Free Pommery Apricot Chicken Meal, featuring grilled chicken breast in a pommery mustard, apricot and dill glaze served with fresh steamed vegetables. We were happy to provide options for everyone.

After a hearty dinner, everyone quieted in their seats and listened to the moving speeches made by bridal party members.

A sweet ending

As the bar service wound down, guests were treated to cake served in the Pond Room, an excellent way to end the day. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful fall night of fun, delicious food and memories. Congratulations to Kerry and Bobby!

Kind words from the happy couple: The Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club helped make our wedding everything we wanted it to be and more! Marianne and her team were extremely helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. They were happy to answer any questions and were very professional, organized, kind and easy to work with. The venue itself was exactly what I was looking for. The wood ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and amazing light fixtures created a gorgeous setting for our reception. The patio was a perfect spot for cocktail hour. The grounds provided amazing backgrounds for pictures. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride! --Kerry, via WeddingWire
